General terms and conditions

The Seller’ refers to Bargain Blinds and Curtains.
The Buyer’ refers to any legal entity purchasing from the seller.

Quotations

Prices displayed on-line are able to be changed at the behest of the Seller at any time and without notice but are fixed to the buyer once an order is placed and paid for.

Special quotations requested and received remain valid for 14 days.

Ordering

Completing a purchase on the website means that the buyer acknowledges that these terms and conditions have been read, understood and agreed. The buyer must provide all required information including name, email address, and payment details etc. to be able the seller to process the order.

The seller reserves the right to accept or reject any order or part thereof submitted by the buyer. If the seller rejects the buyers order, the buyer will be contacted and any money paid by the buyer in relation to the rejected portion of that order shall be refunded and the seller shall have no further liability to the buyer in relation to the rejected part of that order.

Prices

Except where specifically stated in relation to a particular product, the prices for the products are stated and are payable in New Zealand dollars (NZD). Any currency conversion will take place online at the rate applicable at the time of purchase.
The Seller will only accept orders from within New Zealand.

All prices and delivery charges are inclusive of New Zealand Goods and Services Tax.

Fabric specials are only available while stocks last.

Completion and shipment of blinds

Once the seller has confirmed acceptance of the buyer's order, the seller will endeavour to dispatch the buyer's order within 10 business days unless a different time frame is specified in relation to a particular product. If the seller is unable to dispatch the buyer's order within the time frame specified, the seller will endeavour to contact the buyer and advise the buyer of the change of delivery.

Any proposed delivery times offered by the seller are made in good faith but are estimates only and the seller shall not be bound by such estimates nor will the seller be liable for any loss, inconvenience or other damage caused by a delay in delivery.

Express Manufacturing

Custom blind and curtain orders with express manufacturing added will be manufactured and dispatched in 2-4 business days. Standard courier times still apply to express orders upon completion of manufacturing. Express manufacturing is not available on Honeycombs blinds which require approximately 20 days to manufacture.

Receiving goods

Goods leaving the seller's premises are packed appropriately for delivery. Claims for damage or loss in transit must be lodged in the prescribed manner:

Prior to acknowledging delivery to the carrier, the buyer must ensure that the complete consignment has been received, as per the carrier's note.

Should there be a shortage of parcels or visible damage to outer packaging, the carrier's note must be endorsed accordingly and the buyer must contact Bargain Blinds and Curtains within 24 hours with details of the issue.

The seller will not be responsible for any loss or damage to a shipment that has occurred after having been delivered in good order and in accordance with the buyer’s delivery instructions.

Description of products

Modifications and improvements to the seller's products, prices and data are constantly being made.

Although the seller has endeavoured to ensure that product and pricing information provided is accurate, complete, and current, the seller does not provide any representations or warranties as to its accuracy or completeness, nor will the seller be liable for any inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information provided.

Refunds and returns

Custom products

Due to the customised nature of the seller’s products the seller cannot provide a refund if the buyer changes their mind, are unhappy with their colour choice, or the measurements they supplied are incorrect.

Where the buyer believes that there is a discrepancy between the products ordered and what they have received, be it in quantity, size, colour or style etc. the buyer must notify the seller within 7 days of delivery and must provide the seller with a reasonable opportunity to investigate that claim.

If the buyer wishes to cancel their order once manufacturing of the blinds has commenced, the seller will make a calculation as to their costs incurred to date, at their own discretion, and refund the remainder if any to the buyer, in order to cover manufacturing costs. If, however, the buyer cancels their order before manufacturing has commenced, the seller will provide a full refund.

The buyer is responsible for all measurements and is therefore liable for any costs should inaccurate measurements result in a blind that needs alteration or replacement.

The seller recommends the buyer request samples of all fabrics ordered as colour renditions on-screen can vary from the fabrics photographed. The seller will not be liable for a buyer’s dissatisfaction with a characteristic of a fabric ordered.

Fabric dye colours vary minimally between dye batches and so the seller will not be liable for colours not matching perfectly should a buyer order blinds at different times that come from different batches.

Readymade products

If for any reason you are unhappy with any item, you can return it for a full refund within 14 days from receipt of your purchase. The item must be in its original condition, with all packaging in a re-saleable condition. Curtains must not have been gathered.

Once alterations or customizations have been made, returns are not possible.

Privacy and security

The seller will not disclose personal information to third parties without first obtaining the permission of the buyer.

The seller will only use personal information provided for the purpose of administration, manufacturing and supply of products ordered.

Quality Guarantee

The Seller guarantees to replace or repair any product found to be faulty where the product has been used in accordance with the manufacturers recommended instructions for the following periods from the date of installation or delivery:

Workmanship, including Drapes, Voiles, Roman Blinds, Cushions, Tiebacks etc. for a period of 2 years for both Domestic and Commercial applications.

The Seller guarantees to replace or repair any product found to be faulty where the product has been used in accordance with the manufacturers recommended instructions for the following periods from the date of installation or delivery:

Hard Blinds, Roller blinds, non-motorised for 3 years for Domestic use and 1 years for commercial. Roller blinds motorised for 1 years Domestic and 1 year commercial. All other blind types to be for a period of 3 years Domestic and 1 year commercial.

No claims for faded fabrics that have been exposed to direct sunlight will be recognised.

Terms of Payment

Buyers cancelling jobs after orders have been processed and/or work has been commenced, will be liable for the costs the Seller has accrued in that process, including but not limited to fabric costs, re-stocking fees, sewing labour etc.

Repairs of damaged goods, for example damage while transporting, will be the liability of the party at fault. If there are questions as to how damages were caused and who is at fault, costs accrued while determining fault of damages will be borne by the party found at fault.

If the Seller is liable for repair of damaged property, the Seller must agree to the quote and the quote must be invoiced to the Seller directly. If the Buyer proceeds with the repair work without the Sellers written approval, the Seller is not obliged to pay for the repair work.

Fabric Care

New Zealand has some of the strongest sunlight in the world and with our extreme UV rating. Buyers should be aware of certain precautions when selecting window furnishings.

All fabrics, regardless of the dyes used will deteriorate under direct sunlight or reflected ultraviolet light.

Where possible a quality sun filter is recommended when fabrics are in direct or reflected sunlight, even if through double glazed or tinted windows.

A superior quality lining is always recommended.

Leading edges of curtains (those facing the windows) are particularly vulnerable to sunlight degradation. To help minimize this effect, it is recommended that curtains be rotated periodically, i.e., the left-hand curtain swapped to the right-hand position.

Ensure sufficient ‘stack back’ is achieved to minimize direct sunlight when drawing the curtains off the window during the day. Although closing curtains may keep the interior cooler, it is highly destructive to curtain fabrics and the temperatures between the glass and fabric can be extreme causing fabrics to become more susceptible to tearing and disintegration.

Fabric Movement

Fabrics can shrink and expand due to atmospheric conditions. The “Seller” follows the industry standard which provides for + or – 3% movement in the drop of a curtain before considering any remedial action except for fabrics made from the following material where there is an allowance of + or - 6% movement. Linen, Cotton, Viscose. Desired finished length may not be achieved for these reasons.

Damaged products and acceptable quality

Please choose carefully as we do not have to provide a refund if you have changed your mind about a particular purchase.

If the window furnishings we supply do not comply with a consumer guarantee, but can be remedied within a reasonable time, we will either repair the furnishings or replace the furnishings with furnishings of identical type. If we cannot repair or replace the furnishings within a reasonable time, we will provide you with a refund of the purchase price.

If any furnishings arrive damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery. We will arrange to have the damaged item returned to Bargain Blinds and Curtains and either repair or replace the furnishings or refund the price to you, at its election. Damaged furnishings must be returned to Bargain Blinds and Curtains in the condition received by you with all original packaging, together with all packing slips.

Please note that furnishings must be returned within a reasonable period and you may be asked to demonstrate that the problem with the furnishings was not your fault.
