Loyalty terms and conditions

General

  1. Bargain Blinds and Curtains operates a rewards program called BB Dollars which is offered to customers in New Zealand. These terms and conditions govern BB Dollars and the conditions on which we offer BB Dollars to our customers.

  2. You should read these Terms carefully before joining BB Dollars. We encourage you to consult our FAQ’s section or contact our Customer Service team here, if you have any particular questions in relation to these Terms.

  3. By joining BB Dollars, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and consent to receiving communications from us via email (unless you have opted out). If you join BB Dollars on someone else's behalf, you represent that you have the authority to do so, and accept these Terms, on their behalf.

Who can join the program?

  1. To join BB Dollars, you need to be a New Zealand resident. The Benefits of BB Dollars will be available to you only in New Zealand and only in relation to Eligible Purchases.

  2. If you are a Bargain Blinds and Curtains team member, you are not eligible to join BB Dollars.

Joining BB dollars

  1. Joining BB Dollars is easy. You can join BB Dollars by:
    1. Signing up on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website here

  2. In order to join BB Dollars, you will need to provide us with your email address. We can only open one account linked to an email address.

  3. Remember, if you are under the age of 18, you must have your parent or guardian’s approval to join the BB Dollars program. Your parent or guardian will need to read these Terms. We will assume, if you are under 18 when you join, that your parent or guardian has read and agreed to these Terms.

  4. Joining is free and there are no fees to continue as a member. But, to earn any Benefits, you will need to make Eligible Purchases, as explained in these Terms.

Benefits of joining BB

  1. You will be offered certain rewards, gifts, benefits and/or offers selected by Bargain Blinds and Curtains (as published on the BB Dollars page from time to time) (Benefits) as part of BB Dollars, depending on your BB Dollars Tier (explained in further detail in the section below).

  2. The Benefits offered to members at each BB Dollars Tier change from time to time. We publish the details of the current Benefits on the BB Dollars page on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website. Please make sure that you check this page on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website from time to time so that you know what Benefits may be available to you.

  3. If we make changes to your Benefits, we will provide prior notice of at least 30 days. This means you will have a period of time to redeem any Benefits currently available to you before the change takes effect.

How do the BB tiers work?

  1. The different BB Dollars Tiers include BB Dollars Insider, BB Dollars Advantage, BB Dollars Plus and BB Dollars Premier (each a BB Dollars Tier). The BB Dollars Tiers are explained in further detail below. You can reach a BB Dollars Tier by making Eligible Purchases as defined in the clause below.

  2. Eligible Purchases means the purchase of products by you from our Bargain Blinds and Curtains Online Store made in accordance with these Terms.

  3. Only your Eligible Purchases count in determining your BB Dollars Tier. You cannot get the benefit of the purchases that anyone else makes.

  4. The below table sets out how much you need to spend on Eligible Purchases during your BB Dollars Spend Period (see clause below for further details on how this is calculated) to reach each BB Dollars Tier (known as your Yearly Spend):

  5. Your Yearly Spend is calculated in New Zealand dollars.

  6. Yearly Spend excludes goods and services tax.

  7. Yearly Spend is net of returns and refunds and excludes delivery charges.

  8. More detail on how we calculate your Yearly Spend is set out in the clause below.

How we calculate your yearly spend?

  1. Your Yearly Spend to maintain your current BB Dollars Tier: We calculate the amount required to maintain your current BB Dollars Tier by reference to the date you reached your current BB Dollars Tier (referred to as your BB Dollars Anniversary Date). Your Yearly Spend to maintain your current BB Dollars Tier is the period commencing on your BB Dollars Anniversary Date and ending 1 year later.

  2. Yearly Spend Period to reach the next BB Dollars Tier: We calculate the amount required for you to reach the next BB Dollars Tier on a rolling 12 month basis. This means only Eligible Purchases made in the past 12 months count towards your Yearly Spend. Once an Eligible Purchase is over 12 months old, it no longer contributes to your progress towards the next BB Dollars Tier.

  3. For further information on how your Yearly Spend Period is calculated, please refer to the FAQ’s on the BB Dollars page.

  4. Your Yearly Spend includes all Eligible Purchases during your Yearly Spend Period.

  5. Our usual practice is to review your Yearly Spend in near-real time. This means that, on any day, your Yearly Spend will usually include Eligible Purchases made online at Bargain Blinds and Curtains on that day.

  6. If, after you make an Eligible Purchase, you obtain a refund or reimbursement for any products or services purchased from Bargain Blinds and Curtains, an adjustment will be made to your Yearly Spend for the amount refunded or reimbursed.

  7. If required, we will upgrade your BB Dollars Tier as soon as one of our reviews shows that your Yearly Spend has reached the required level and your BB Dollars Anniversary Date will be changed accordingly. But we will only downgrade your BB Dollars Level at the times set out in the paragraph below.

  8. We review your BB Dollars Tier at the end of every Yearly Spend Period to see if it should be adjusted to a lower BB Dollars Tier. If you have not maintained the amount of Yearly Spend required for your BB Dollars Tier in your Yearly Spend Period, we will:

    1. Adjust your BB Dollars Tier to reflect your current BB Dollars Tier based on your Yearly Spend

It is important that you keep track of your BB Dollars Anniversary Date and your Yearly Spend Period if you want to maintain your BB Dollars Tier or reach the next BB Dollars Tier.

What do you need to do when making an eligible purchase?

  1. You need to sign in as a BB Dollars member before completing your Eligible Purchase to make sure that your Eligible Purchase is included in your Yearly Spend.

  2. If you are shopping on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website, you can do this by logging into your BB Dollars account to make sure that your Eligible Purchase is included in your Yearly Spend. Make sure you use the email address you provided when creating your account. Guest checkout of Eligible Purchases through the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website will not contribute to your Yearly Spend and cannot be added at a later time after you have made the Eligible Purchase.

Restrictions that apply to your BB dollar membership

  1. You can only have one BB Dollars membership and you cannot transfer your membership or your Yearly Spend to anyone else. This means that you also cannot accept anyone else’s Yearly Spend.

  2. Yearly Spend amounts have no cash or monetary value and cannot be taken or redeemed as cash or equivalent. BB Dollars cannot be exchanged for other Bargain Blinds and Curtains products or services.

  3. If you think you have more than one BB Dollars membership, please contact Customer Care here to see if we can merge the memberships for you.

Redeeming your BB dollars

  1. BB Dollars are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or equivalent.

  2. We reserve the right to request valid photographic identification or equivalent (for example, passport, driver’s licence or birth certificate) when you redeem BB Dollars to validate that the person eligible for the Benefit is redeeming the Benefit.

  3. All Benefits offered by Bargain Blinds and Curtains for each BB Dollars Tier are offered on a calendar year basis. Depending on your BB Dollars Anniversary Date, you may not receive all Benefits available during the calendar year for a specific BB Dollars Tier. The timing of any Benefits offered by Bargain Blinds and Curtains will be determined in Bargain Blinds and Curtains’s absolute discretion.

  4. Any Benefit that you are entitled to as a BB Dollars member may be subject to specific terms and conditions, which will be communicated to you at the time of Benefit notification.

Your BB dollar account details

You agree you are responsible for:

  1. maintaining the confidentiality of your BB Dollars account details, including any username and password;

  2. restricting third party access to your BB Dollars account via your devices;

  3. providing and maintaining current, accurate, complete and truthful information in connection with your BB Dollars account, including all BB Dollars account details; and

  4. all activities that occur under your BB Dollars account.

Changes to your details or communications preferences

  1. You need to tell us if you want to make any changes to your details or if you want to update or customise your communications preferences.

  2. You can make changes to your details by logging into your account on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website or contacting our Customer Care team here. If you speak to one of our team members, you must also provide acceptable identifiable information to change your membership details.

  3. You can opt out, update or customise your communications preferences by:

    1. clicking the unsubscribe link contained in promotional emails; or

    2. contacting our Customer Care team here.

  4. If you select not to receive any communications from us at all, you will not be notified of any Benefits by email.

  5. Bargain Blinds and Curtains is not responsible if you don’t notify us of any changes to your details or any changes you make to your communications preferences, which may result in you not obtaining any Benefit or the loss or downgrade of your BB Dollars Tier.

Terminating your membership

  1. If you would like to terminate your BB Dollars membership you can do this by contacting our Customer Care team here.

  2. We reserve the right to terminate your BB Dollars membership at our reasonable discretion, by providing you with at least 30 days’ notice.

  3. We may also terminate your membership without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

  4. If your BB Dollars membership is terminated, you will no longer be entitled to accrue any Yearly Spend or redeem any Benefits.

Changes to these terms and conditions

  1. We keep these Terms on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website, so it is easy for you to access them.

  2. We try not to change these Terms too often, but sometimes we need to, for example, if the law changes. When we change these Terms, we will put the updated version on the Bargain Blinds and Curtains website and update the date set out above. If the change is significant, we will provide you prior notice.

  3. If you continue to use your BB Dollars membership after we change these Terms, you will be deemed to have accepted the changed Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you may terminate your BB Dollars membership at any time as set out in section 14(a).

Applicable law

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws in force in New Zealand

  2. You and Bargain Blinds and Curtains submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts exercising jurisdiction in New Zealand
