How to install dual curtain tracks - Rod & Standard

Use our step-by-step guide to install your new dual curtain track (rod and standard track) like a pro.

  1. Installing the brackets

Locate the position you measured when ordering your curtains. For wall-fix installations, the brackets attach directly to the wall surface.

The top of your curtains should sit 5mm higher than the top of your track. On a rod, they will sit flush with the underside of the rod.

    Tip

Use a stud finder to locate timber framing behind the wall lining.

  2. Bracket positioning

Ideally, fix the first and last brackets into timber framing behind the wall lining within 250mm of each end of the track.

    Securing the brackets

    • If no timber is available within 250mm of the ends, use suitable wall anchors or plugs and position the first and last brackets within 100mm of each end of the track.
    • Space the remaining brackets evenly between them, with a maximum spacing of 700mm apart.

    Tip

When installing double tracks, make sure you fix and lock the BACK track first.

  3. Fit the track

    (a) Hook the front edge of the track into the bracket first.

    (b) Lock the track in place from underneath using a Phillips screwdriver to turn the camlock counterclockwise until it stops.

  4. Fit the front rod

    (a) Raise the rod to meet the underside of the brackets.

    (b) Then fix in place from above with a ¼ turn of the camlock on each bracket.

You can now continue with the curtain installation guide.
